# Ingredients

  • 1½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ¾ cup cocoa powder
  • 1½ tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt (less if using salted butter)
  • 5 large brown bananas
  • 6 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • ⅓ cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 medium eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

# Instructions

  1. Grease two loaf pans.
  2. Combine the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt in a bowl.
  3. In another bowl, mash the bananas and mix in oil and butter.
  4. Stir sugar, egg, and vanilla into the banana mix.
  5. Stir the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients. Don't overmix.
  6. Stir in 1+ cup of chocolate chips.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared pans.
  8. Sprinkle the remaining chocolate chips over the top.
  9. Bake at 350° for 40-45 minutes, until a toothpick comes out clean.
  10. Cool for 15 minutes before removing the bread from the pans.
